How to download a TikTok video without the watermark on Fistty

The whole process takes less than a minute. Here is exactly what to do on a phone. The steps are the same on a laptop, except you right-click to paste.

  1. Open the video in TikTok. Tap the Share arrow on the right side of the screen, under the comment bubble. A tray slides up from the bottom. Swipe along the bottom row of icons and tap Copy link. TikTok shows a small “Copied” message.
  2. Open Fistty. Go to https://fistty.com/tiktok-video-downloader/ in Safari, Chrome, Opera, or any browser you like.
  3. Paste the link. Tap inside the box that says “Paste TikTok link here”, hold for a second, and tap Paste. Then tap the Download button next to the box.
  4. Choose “No watermark”. Fistty loads a preview of the video with the creator’s name. Below it you will see options such as Download without watermark, Download with watermark, and Download MP3. Pick the no-watermark option. If an HD label is shown, choose it for the best quality.
  5. Save the file. On Android the video goes straight to your Downloads folder and appears in Gallery or Google Photos within a few seconds. On iPhone, Safari saves it to the Files app under Downloads. Tap the file, tap the Share icon, and choose Save Video to move it into Photos.

That is it. You now have a clean copy of the video with no logo, no username, and no app installed on your phone.

Why TikTok adds a watermark in the first place

When you use TikTok’s own Save video button, the app stamps a bouncing TikTok logo and the creator’s @username onto the file. It does this for two reasons. First, it is free advertising. Every time a saved TikTok is posted on WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook, the logo tells people where it came from. Second, it gives credit to the creator, which TikTok sees as a fairness feature.

The problem is that the watermark covers part of the picture, and it moves around so it is hard to crop out. Other platforms also notice it. Instagram has said publicly that Reels showing a visible TikTok logo may be recommended less often. If you want a clean copy for a presentation, a WhatsApp status, or your own archive, you need a downloader that pulls the original file before the watermark is added.

Fistty does exactly that. It reads the video address TikTok sends to the app, picks the version without the overlay, and gives it to you as a normal MP4. Nothing is edited or blurred, so the quality matches what you see in the app. For more detail on how this works and what to do with videos that still show a logo, read Why TikTok Downloads Have a Watermark (and How to Remove It).

What you can and cannot download

It helps to know the limits before you start, so you do not waste time.

Works fine

  • Public videos from any account, including verified accounts and big brands.
  • Videos where the creator turned off “Allow downloads”. Fistty reads the link, not the in-app Save button, so this setting does not block it.
  • Photo slideshows. Fistty gives you the images or the slideshow as a video, depending on the post.
  • Sounds only. Pick the MP3 option if you just want the audio. We cover that in How to Download TikTok Sounds and Convert TikTok to MP3.

Does not work

  • Private accounts. If an account is private, TikTok only serves the video to approved followers who are logged in. No online tool, including Fistty, can download these. Any site that promises otherwise is not telling the truth.
  • Friends-only or “Only me” videos. Same reason as above.
  • Deleted or removed videos. If TikTok has taken the video down, the link leads nowhere.
  • Live streams while they are live. You can only download a live once the creator has saved it as a replay.

Fistty never asks for your TikTok password, and you should not give your password to any downloader site. A real downloader only needs the public link.

If the download fails

Most failures come from a wrong link. Make sure you copied the link from inside the TikTok app, not from a WhatsApp message that trimmed it. The link should start with https://vm.tiktok.com/ or https://www.tiktok.com/@username/video/. If you pasted correctly and Fistty still shows an error, the video may be private or deleted. Tips for better downloads

Get the sharpest copy

TikTok stores several versions of each video. The app shows you whatever fits your connection, but the original upload is often sharper. On the Fistty result screen, always choose the HD option if it appears. If you care about quality for a big screen, see How to Download TikTok Videos in HD and 4K Quality.

Save data on a mobile network

A 30-second TikTok in HD can be 10 to 20 MB. If you are on a small data bundle, download on Wi-Fi where you can, or choose the standard-quality option instead of HD. Fistty’s preview uses very little data, so you can check you have the right video before you commit to the full download.

Find the file quickly

On Android, open the Files or My Files app, tap Downloads, and sort by date. The newest file is at the top. On iPhone, open Files, tap Browse, then On My iPhone or iCloud Drive, then Downloads. If you want every download to go straight to Photos instead, we show you how in How to Save TikTok Videos on iPhone Without Watermark.

Add it to your home screen

Fistty is a website, not an app, but you can still get one-tap access. In Chrome on Android, open the Fistty TikTok page, tap the three dots, and choose Add to Home screen. In Safari on iPhone, tap the Share icon and choose Add to Home Screen. It then opens like an app, with no store download and no updates to manage.

Is it legal to download TikTok videos?

Downloading a public video to watch offline, keep as a reference, or share privately with friends is generally fine. The grey area starts when you re-upload someone else’s video as if it were your own. That can break TikTok’s rules and may infringe the creator’s copyright. If you want to post a video on another platform, credit the creator or ask permission. Fistty respects takedown requests through its DMCA page.

In 2026, downloaders like Fistty are a normal part of how people save and share short videos. Use them the way you would use a screenshot: for yourself, for your friends, and with respect for the person who made the content.
