Fistty is a free TikTok HD downloader that gives you the sharpest version TikTok has of any public video. Copy the link from the app, paste it into Fistty’s TikTok downloader, and choose the HD option. You get a clean MP4 with no watermark, at the resolution the creator uploaded, which is usually 1080p and sometimes 4K.
Download it now with Fistty. Paste the link, tap Download. No app, no login, free.
How to download a TikTok video in HD on Fistty
The steps are the same on iPhone, Android, and desktop. The only part that changes is where the file lands at the end.
- Copy the video link. In the TikTok app, tap the Share arrow on the right side of the video. Swipe along the bottom row of the share tray and tap Copy link. On the TikTok website, click the Share arrow and choose Copy link.
- Open Fistty. Go to https://fistty.com/tiktok-video-downloader/ in any browser.
- Paste and tap Download. Tap the link box, paste, then tap the Download button. Fistty fetches the video details and shows a preview.
- Pick the HD option. You will see buttons for the standard no-watermark version, an HD no-watermark version, a version with watermark, and MP3. Choose HD. If the HD button does not appear, the video was uploaded at a lower resolution and the standard file is already the best available.
- Save the file. On Android the video goes to Downloads and appears in Gallery. On iPhone, Safari saves it to the Files app under Downloads; tap the file, tap Share, and choose Save Video to put it in Photos. On a computer it goes to your Downloads folder.
If you need the file in Photos on iPhone with the fewest taps, the iPhone guide walks through it step by step.
What “HD” really means on TikTok
TikTok does not store one copy of a video. When a creator uploads, TikTok makes several versions at different sizes so it can send a small one to people on slow connections and a bigger one to people on Wi-Fi. The common tiers look like this.
| Tier | Resolution | Typical size for 30 seconds | Who sees it in the app |
|---|---|---|---|
| Low | 540p (540 x 960) | 2 to 4 MB | Weak mobile data |
| Standard | 720p (720 x 1280) | 4 to 8 MB | Most mobile viewing |
| HD | 1080p (1080 x 1920) | 8 to 20 MB | Wi-Fi, or “HD” toggled on by the creator |
| 4K | 2160p (2160 x 3840) | 30 to 80 MB | Only when the creator uploaded in 4K and turned on HD upload |
When Fistty shows an HD button, it is pointing to the 1080p or higher file that TikTok keeps for Wi-Fi viewers. The standard button points to the 720p file. Both are without watermark. The difference is noticeable on a phone with a large screen and very clear on a laptop or TV.
Why 4K is rare
TikTok only keeps a 4K file if the creator shot in 4K and switched on Allow high-quality uploads before posting. Most people do not. Even then, the app usually plays the 1080p version to save bandwidth. So when a downloader promises “4K for every TikTok”, be careful. No tool can create detail that was never uploaded. Fistty gives you the highest file that exists and does not upscale, because upscaling just makes a bigger, blurrier file.
How to tell if your download is really HD
You do not have to guess. Check the file details on your phone.
- Android: Open the video in Gallery, tap the three dots, and choose Details or Info. Look for Resolution. 1080 x 1920 is full HD.
- iPhone: Open the video in Photos, swipe up or tap the i button. The resolution shows under the file name, for example 1080 x 1920.
- Computer: Right-click the file, choose Properties (Windows) or Get Info (Mac), and look under Details or More Info.
Also compare file size. A 30-second clip under 5 MB is almost always 720p or lower. A clip over 10 MB at the same length is usually 1080p.
When you need HD and when you do not
HD files are bigger. Here is how to decide quickly.
Choose HD when you want to
- Play the video on a TV, projector, or laptop screen.
- Edit it in CapCut, iMovie, or Premiere, where every export loses a little quality.
- Repost it to YouTube Shorts or Instagram Reels, which compress again on upload.
- Keep an archive of your own TikToks at full quality.
Standard quality is fine when you want to
- Send it on WhatsApp. WhatsApp shrinks every video to around 720p or lower anyway, so the HD file gains you nothing and costs more data. See How to Download TikTok Videos for WhatsApp Status.
- Watch it once on your phone.
- Download many clips on a mobile data bundle.
If data cost matters to you, Fistty’s preview uses almost nothing, so you can check you have the right video before choosing a file size. Readers in Nigeria will find more on this in How to Download TikTok Videos in Nigeria Without Burning Data.
Why Fistty’s HD file looks better than TikTok’s own save
TikTok’s built-in Save video button does three things that hurt quality. It picks a mid-level version, it stamps the moving logo and username on top, and it re-encodes the whole file to burn the logo in. That last step adds a second round of compression, which softens edges and adds blockiness in dark scenes.
Fistty skips all three. It reads the address of the original file that TikTok serves to the app, selects the highest tier, and hands it to you untouched. No logo is added, so nothing has to be re-encoded. The copy you download is the same bytes a Wi-Fi viewer streams in 2026, which is why side by side it looks cleaner than an in-app save, even at the same resolution.
Downloading HD on a computer
Fistty works the same way on Windows, Mac, and Linux, and a computer is the best place to see the difference described above. Open the TikTok website, click the Share arrow on a video, and choose Copy link. Paste it into Fistty, choose HD, and the file saves to your Downloads folder. Open it in VLC or QuickTime and you will see the full 1080p frame. If you are building a collection, a computer is also easier for renaming and sorting files.
Common questions about quality
The HD button is missing. The creator uploaded in 720p or lower, or the video is very old. The standard file is the best copy that exists.
The file is HD but still looks soft. The creator may have filmed in low light, used a heavy filter, or uploaded a screen recording. Resolution is only one part of quality.
The download fails or stops. Large HD files need a steady connection. Switch to Wi-Fi and try again, or follow the checklist in TikTok Video Not Downloading? 9 Fixes That Work.
Can I download HD from a private account? No. Private and friends-only videos cannot be downloaded by any online tool at any quality.
One last note. Downloading a public video to keep or watch offline is fine. Re-uploading someone else’s HD TikTok as your own content can break TikTok’s rules and copyright, so credit the creator when you share.

Frequently asked questions
Can I download TikTok videos in 1080p?
Yes. Paste the link into Fistty and choose the HD option. If the creator uploaded in 1080p or higher, you get that file with no watermark.
Can I download TikTok videos in 4K?
Only if the creator shot in 4K and enabled high-quality uploads. Most TikToks top out at 1080p. Fistty gives you the highest file TikTok actually has and does not fake 4K by upscaling.
Why does the HD button not show on Fistty?
The video was uploaded at 720p or lower, so there is no higher version to offer. The standard download is already the best quality available.
How do I check the resolution of a downloaded TikTok?
On Android, open the video in Gallery and tap Details. On iPhone, open it in Photos and tap the i button. 1080 x 1920 means full HD.
Does the HD download have a watermark?
No. Fistty's HD option is the no-watermark version. There is a separate button if you want the file with the TikTok logo.
Why is Fistty's download sharper than TikTok's Save video button?
TikTok's save re-encodes the video to burn in the logo, which adds compression. Fistty gives you the original file with no logo and no extra encoding.
