How to save a TikTok video to your iPhone without the watermark

These steps work on any iPhone running iOS 13 or later, including iPhone SE, iPhone 11 through iPhone 17, and iPad. Use Safari for the smoothest experience, because Safari handles the download prompt in a predictable way.

  1. Copy the link in TikTok. Open the video and tap the Share arrow on the right edge of the screen. In the tray that slides up, swipe left along the bottom row until you see Copy link, then tap it. TikTok shows “Copied” at the bottom.
  2. Open Fistty in Safari. Type or paste fistty.com/tiktok-video-downloader into the address bar. You can also tap the address bar and choose the “Paste and Go” option if you have the URL copied.
  3. Paste the TikTok link. Tap once inside the link box, then tap the Paste bubble that appears. iOS may ask “Allow paste from TikTok?”. Tap Allow Paste. Then tap the Download button.
  4. Pick “Download without watermark”. Fistty shows a preview with the creator’s name and a few buttons. Tap the no-watermark option. If an HD label is shown, choose that one for the sharpest copy.
  5. Confirm the Safari download. Safari shows a small sheet that says “Do you want to download this file?”. Tap Download. A blue arrow icon appears in the address bar while the file downloads.
  6. Move the video to Photos. Tap the blue arrow, then tap the file name. The video opens in a preview. Tap the Share icon in the bottom-left corner and choose Save Video. The clean copy is now in your Photos app under Recents.

If you skip step 6, the video stays in the Files app under Downloads. It is still on your phone and you can send it from there, but it will not appear in Photos until you save it.

Why iPhone downloads land in Files, not Photos

Many people think the download failed because they open Photos and see nothing. It did not fail. Since iOS 13, Safari has its own download manager, and it treats a video file the same as a PDF or a ZIP. Everything goes to the Downloads folder in the Files app first.

There are two ways to deal with this. The first is the Share, then Save Video route shown above, which takes two taps. The second is to change where Safari saves. Go to Settings, then Apps, then Safari, then Downloads. Here you can choose On My iPhone instead of iCloud Drive, which keeps your downloads off iCloud and saves space in your iCloud plan. Safari still cannot save directly into Photos, so the Save Video step stays the same.

Android handles this differently, which is why the Android guide has fewer steps. Android drops the file in Downloads and the Gallery app picks it up on its own.

Browsers, Shortcuts, and apps: what to use on iPhone

Fistty works in every iPhone browser, but the save step looks a little different in each one.

Chrome

Chrome on iOS shows an “Open in…” sheet after the download finishes. Tap Save Video if you see it, or tap More and then Save Video. Chrome also lists downloads under the three-dot menu, then Downloads.

Firefox

Firefox saves to its own downloads list. Tap the three-line menu, then Downloads, tap the video, then use the Share icon to Save Video.

Opera and Brave

Both behave like Safari and send files to the Files app. Follow the same Share, then Save Video step.

If one browser ever gives you trouble, switch to Safari. It is the browser Apple tests the most, and it handles the download sheet without surprises. You do not need to make Safari your default browser for this. Just open it for the download, then go back to whatever you normally use.

Private Browsing

Fistty works in Private Browsing too. The only difference is that Safari may ask you to confirm the download twice. Tap Download both times and the file still lands in the Files app as usual.

Why you do not need a Shortcut or an app

You may have seen guides that tell you to install a Siri Shortcut or a third-party app from the App Store to save TikTok videos. Both approaches work, but they come with trade-offs.

  • Shortcuts break often. TikTok changes how its links work several times a year. When that happens, the Shortcut stops working and you have to find an updated version.
  • Apps add ads and permissions. Many “TikTok saver” apps show full-screen ads and ask for access to your photo library before they do anything.
  • Some ask you to log in. Never type your TikTok password into a third-party app. Fistty never asks for a password because it does not need one. It only reads the public link.

Fistty is a website, so there is nothing to install and nothing to update. If you use it often, open the Fistty TikTok page in Safari, tap the Share icon, and choose Add to Home Screen. You get an icon that opens like an app, and it stays up to date on its own.

Getting the best quality on iPhone

iPhone screens are sharp, so a soft, compressed video stands out. A few things help.

  • Choose HD when Fistty offers it. The HD file is often the original upload, which is much cleaner than what TikTok streams on a weak connection.
  • Download on Wi-Fi. A one-minute TikTok in HD can be 20 to 40 MB. On a mobile plan with a small bundle, that adds up fast.
  • Do not re-share from TikTok’s own save. TikTok’s built-in Save video button re-encodes the file and adds the logo. Fistty skips both.

If you plan to show the video on a TV or edit it in iMovie or CapCut, read How to Download TikTok Videos in HD and 4K Quality for a full breakdown of TikTok’s quality tiers.

What will not download, and a note on sharing

Private, friends-only, and deleted videos

Be honest with yourself about this one so you do not chase a fix that does not exist.

  • Private accounts. If the account is private, TikTok only sends the video to approved followers inside the app. No website can fetch it.
  • Friends-only videos. Same rule.
  • Deleted videos. The link opens an empty page in TikTok and Fistty shows an error.

Everything public downloads fine, even if the creator has turned off the in-app Save button. For anything else that goes wrong, see TikTok Video Not Downloading? 9 Fixes That Work.

Sharing someone else’s video

Saving a public video to watch later or send to a friend is fine. Posting someone else’s video on your own account as if you made it can break TikTok’s rules and may infringe copyright. In 2026, most creators are happy to have their work shared as long as you give credit, so a quick mention of their @username goes a long way.
