How to download a TikTok sound as MP3 on Fistty

You can grab the sound from any public TikTok video, whether it is an original sound, a trending clip, or a song snippet. Here is the full process on a phone.

  1. Copy the video link. Open the TikTok video that uses the sound you want. Tap the Share arrow on the right side of the screen. Swipe along the bottom row of the share tray and tap Copy link.
  2. Open Fistty. Go to https://fistty.com/tiktok-video-downloader/ in Safari, Chrome, or any browser.
  3. Paste the link and tap Download. Tap inside the link box, paste, and tap the Download button. Fistty shows a preview of the video with the creator’s name.
  4. Tap “Download MP3”. Below the video download buttons you will see an MP3 option. Tap it. Fistty extracts the audio and starts the download. Most sounds are under 1 MB, so this takes a second or two.
  5. Find the file. On Android the MP3 goes to your Downloads folder and appears in your music app or in Files, then Audio. On iPhone, Safari saves it to the Files app under Downloads. Tap it to play, or share it to GarageBand, Voice Memos, or any app that accepts audio.

If you want the video as well as the sound, run the same link twice: once for the no-watermark video and once for the MP3. There is no limit on how many times you can use a link.

Whole video sound or just the original sound?

This is the one thing that confuses most people, so it is worth a minute. A TikTok video has one audio track. That track might be a song the creator picked from the TikTok library, their own voice, or a mix of both. When Fistty converts TikTok to MP3, it gives you the audio exactly as it plays in the video, including any voice-over, laughs, or background noise the creator added on top of the music.

If you want the clean “original sound” that other creators use, find a video that uses only that sound with nothing added. The easiest way is to tap the spinning record icon at the bottom-right of any video. That opens the sound page, which lists every video using it. The first video in the list is usually the original poster, and its audio is the clean version. Copy that video’s link and convert it.

For songs from the TikTok library, remember that TikTok only uses a 15 to 60 second clip of the track. The MP3 you get is that clip, not the full song. If you want the full song, search for it on YouTube and use How to Convert YouTube to MP3 Online (High Quality) instead.

How to use your TikTok MP3

Set it as a ringtone on Android

Open Settings, then Sound, then Phone ringtone. Tap Add or the plus sign, browse to Downloads, and pick the MP3. On Samsung, the option is under Sounds and vibration, then Ringtone, then the plus icon. Infinix and Tecno phones have a similar Choose from files option.

Set it as a ringtone on iPhone

iPhone does not accept MP3 ringtones directly. Open the MP3 in GarageBand (free from Apple), trim it to 30 seconds or less, then tap the down arrow, choose My Songs, long-press the project, tap Share, and choose Ringtone. It then appears in Settings under Sounds.

Use it in a video edit

CapCut, InShot, VN, and iMovie all import MP3 files. In CapCut, tap Audio, then Sounds, then From device or the folder icon, and pick your file. Keep in mind that if you upload the finished video back to TikTok, the app may detect the music and attach the original sound credit.

Open a chat, tap the paperclip or plus icon, choose Document (not Audio, which only shows system music), browse to Downloads, and pick the MP3. The receiver can play it inside the chat.

Download sounds on a computer

The process is identical on Windows, Mac, or Linux. Open TikTok in a browser, click the Share arrow on the video, and choose Copy link. Paste it into Fistty and click Download MP3. The file saves to your Downloads folder. On a computer you can then drag it into Audacity, Premiere, or DaVinci Resolve, or add it to a playlist in VLC or iTunes. If you are collecting sounds for a project, a computer makes it much easier to rename files so you can find them later.

Copyright and fair use

Downloading a sound to listen to offline, use as a ringtone, or study is generally fine. Using a song you did not make in a video you then monetise, or uploading someone’s original sound as your own, can infringe copyright. Most music on TikTok is licensed for use inside TikTok only. If you plan to publish a video somewhere else with that music, check the rights or use royalty-free tracks. Fistty does not host any audio and handles takedown notices through its DMCA page.

MP3 quality: what to expect

TikTok stores audio at roughly 128 kbps AAC inside the video file. Fistty converts that to MP3 at a matching bitrate, so the quality you hear is the same as in the app. Nothing is lost beyond what TikTok already compressed. For voice, speech, and short sound effects, this is more than enough. For music, it sounds fine on phone speakers and earbuds, but it is not studio quality, because the source was never studio quality to begin with.

No downloader can give you a higher quality MP3 than the audio TikTok has. If a site advertises “320 kbps TikTok MP3”, it is just making a bigger file with the same sound inside. Save your storage and ignore that claim.

If the MP3 download fails

Three causes cover almost every failure in 2026.

  • The video is private or friends-only. TikTok only serves those to approved followers, so no online tool can fetch the audio. Any site that claims otherwise is not being honest.
  • The link is broken. Links copied from WhatsApp or a text message are sometimes cut short. Copy the link again directly from the TikTok app.
  • The browser blocked the download. Check for a small “blocked” or “allow” prompt at the top of the screen, tap Allow, and try again.

Frequently asked questions

How do I download a TikTok sound as an MP3?

Copy the video link from TikTok's Share menu, paste it into Fistty's TikTok downloader, tap Download, then tap the Download MP3 button. The file saves to your Downloads folder.

Can I download just the audio from a TikTok without the video?

Yes. Fistty's Download MP3 option extracts only the audio track and gives you a standalone MP3 file. The video is not downloaded unless you choose it as well.

Why is my TikTok MP3 only 15 or 30 seconds long?

TikTok uses short clips of songs, not full tracks. The MP3 is the audio from that video, so it is the same length as the video. For the full song, use a YouTube to MP3 converter.

Can I set a TikTok sound as my ringtone?

On Android, yes: go to Settings, Sound, Ringtone, and add the MP3 from Downloads. On iPhone, import the MP3 into GarageBand, trim to 30 seconds, and export it as a ringtone.

Is the TikTok MP3 good quality?

It matches what you hear in the app, around 128 kbps. That is fine for phones and earbuds. No tool can make it better than the audio TikTok stores.

Can I download the sound from a private TikTok?

No. Private and friends-only videos are only available to approved followers inside the app, so no online tool can access the audio.
