How to Download TikTok Slideshows and Photo Posts

TikTok photo posts are a swipeable set of images with a sound on top. Copy the link, paste it into Fistty and save the individual images or a rendered video version when it is offered. Here is what works and what does not.

To download a TikTok slideshow, tap Share on the photo post, tap Copy link, and paste the link into Fistty’s TikTok downloader. Fistty shows the images in the carousel so you can save each one, and for many posts it also offers a rendered video version with the sound. Everything is free, needs no app or login, and the images come without a watermark.

Download it now with Fistty. Paste the link, tap Download. No app, no login, free.

How to download a TikTok photo post on Fistty

A TikTok photo post (also called a slideshow or carousel) is different from a normal video. It is a set of still images you swipe through, with a sound playing on top. The TikTok app itself only lets you save photo posts as a video with the watermark baked in, and many creators turn even that off. The link method below gives you a cleaner result.

  1. Open the photo post in TikTok. You can tell it is a slideshow because small dots appear at the bottom and you can swipe left and right. Pause on it.
  2. Tap Share, then Copy link. The Share arrow is on the right side of the screen, under the comment icon. Copy link is normally the first icon in the row that slides up.
  3. Open Fistty. Visit Fistty’s TikTok downloader in any browser. The same page handles videos and photo posts.
  4. Paste the link and tap Download. Long-press the box, choose Paste, then tap the Download button. Fistty detects that the link points to a photo post.
  5. Save what you need. You will see each image in the carousel with its own download button. If a video version is offered, you will also see a Download video option that includes the sound.
  6. Find the files. On Android, images and video land in the Downloads folder and show in Gallery. On iPhone, Safari saves them to the Files app under Downloads; open the file, tap Share and choose Save Image or Save Video to move it to Photos.

If you save the images one by one, each file is the original photo at the size the creator uploaded. No TikTok logo, no username overlay.

What a downloader can give you, and what it cannot

Photo posts confuse a lot of people because the result depends on how TikTok stores the post. It is worth knowing what is realistic in 2026 before you start.

What you can get

  • The individual images. This always works for a public post. Each slide is a separate JPEG or WebP file. These are the cleanest files because they never had a watermark in the first place.
  • A rendered video version. For many photo posts, TikTok generates an MP4 that plays the slides with the sound, the same way the app shows it. When that file exists, Fistty offers it as a Download video option. It is usually watermark-free.
  • The sound on its own. If you only want the audio, use the MP3 option when it appears, or read how to convert TikTok to MP3.

What you cannot get

  • A video version for every post. Some photo posts have no rendered MP4 on TikTok’s side. In that case no downloader can invent one. You get the images and, in some cases, the audio, and you can combine them yourself in a free editor like CapCut or InShot.
  • Text overlays and stickers as separate layers. If the creator typed captions on top of the images inside TikTok, those are sometimes part of the image file and sometimes only in the rendered video. You get whichever TikTok stored.
  • Private posts. Photo posts from private accounts, or set to Friends only, cannot be fetched by Fistty or any other online tool. See our honest guide to private TikTok videos.
  • The exact swipe timing. The rendered video uses TikTok’s default slide timing. If you swiped at your own pace in the app, the MP4 will not match that.

Images or video: which should you download?

It depends on what you plan to do with the post.

You want to… Download this Why
Keep a recipe, outfit idea or notes Individual images Full-size, easy to zoom and read later
Post it to WhatsApp status Video version (if offered) Status plays the slides and sound as one clip
Make your own edit with a different song Individual images You control the order and timing in CapCut
Repost the whole thing with the original sound Video version Fastest, and it keeps the creator’s audio
Save for a phone with little storage Images only Photos are smaller than an MP4

If you want the clip for Instagram, read how to repost TikTok to Instagram Reels without the watermark. The same steps apply to a slideshow MP4.

Why the TikTok app’s save option is not ideal for slideshows

Inside TikTok, the share sheet on a photo post shows Save video, not Save images. The app converts the slides into a video with the watermark, the username, and TikTok’s slide timing. There is no way to pull out a single photo. For a recipe card or a reading list, that is frustrating: the text is covered by the logo and you cannot zoom in on one slide.

Creators can also disable saving entirely. When they do, the Save video button vanishes and the only options are screenshots. Screenshots work, but they are lower quality, they include the TikTok interface, and you have to take them one slide at a time.

Fistty avoids all of this. It reads the public post from the link and gives you the original image files and, when available, the rendered video. No app, no account, no watermark. It also works the same on iPhone and Android, so you do not need a different method for each phone.

If the slideshow will not download

  • Only one image appears. Scroll down on the results page. Fistty lists every slide, but on a small screen the list can run below the first download button.
  • No video option is shown. TikTok did not generate an MP4 for that post. Save the images and the audio instead.
  • The link says invalid. Copy it again from the Share menu. Make sure you did not copy the creator’s profile link by mistake. The post link contains /photo/ or a short vm.tiktok.com code.
  • The images open in the browser instead of saving. Long-press the image and choose Download image, or tap the download button again. On iPhone, tap and hold, then Save to Photos.
  • Private or Friends-only post. Nothing online can fetch it. Ask the creator to send you the images.

Credit the creator

Saving a slideshow for your own use is fine. If you repost the images or the video, tag the creator and keep their sound credit. Reposting as your own work can breach TikTok’s rules and copyright. Our guide to whether downloading TikTok videos is legal explains the difference in plain words.

Frequently asked questions

Can you download a TikTok slideshow?

Yes. Copy the post link from the Share menu, paste it into Fistty's TikTok downloader and tap Download. You can save each image, and for many posts a video version with the sound as well.

How do I save TikTok photos without the watermark?

Download the individual images through Fistty. The original image files never had a watermark, so they come out clean. The in-app Save video option always adds the logo.

Why is there no video option for my TikTok slideshow?

TikTok only generates a rendered MP4 for some photo posts. If there is none, no downloader can create it. Save the images and the audio and combine them in a free editor if you need a video.

Can I download the sound from a TikTok photo post?

Yes. Use the MP3 option on Fistty when it appears, or download the video version and extract the audio. The sound belongs to its creator, so credit them if you reuse it.

Where do downloaded TikTok slideshow images go?

On Android they save to the Downloads folder and appear in Gallery. On iPhone, Safari puts them in Files under Downloads; tap Share and Save Image to move them to Photos.

Can I download a slideshow from a private TikTok account?

No. Private and Friends-only posts cannot be fetched by Fistty or any other online tool. Ask the creator to send you the images directly.
